Oxana Omelchuk, born in Belarus, studied with Johannes Fritsch and Michael Beil at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.
In addition to her compositional activities, she performs as a musician in various formations. Her range as a performing musician is also reflected in her works. Characteristic for her compositions is not the aim to create something completely new, but rather to transform existing, rediscovered things into the present.
For some years now, Omelchuk’s work has been strongly influenced by her involvement with synthesizers.
This also affects the way she composes. Composing with modular synthesizers means developing works out of experimental trial arrangements and improvisational processes.
Since 2020, Oxana Omelchuk has been part of the Polar Publik collective, a community of artists from the genres of dance, theatre, new music and visual arts, whose transdisciplinary projects at the interface of art and science are dedicated to current relationships and situations in which the phenomena of power and powerlessness become explicit.
Oxana Omelchuck was guest artist for Wellenbad n°1 at Münsterthereme Düsseldorf.
Anna Schütten (*1989 in Cologne) understands listening as an artistic action and looks for ways to share listening into soundscapes through performances and installations, e.g. with her long-term project ‘Flüstertechno’, in which she records underwater soundscapes of various bodies of water. After studies of Freie Kunst at the Kunstakademie Karlsruhe and Epistemic Media at the RSH Düsseldorf her artistic practice often consists of site-specific compositions on the tilting point between visual arts and music.
Anna Schütten was guest artist for Wellenbad n°1 at Frankenbad Bonn.
Nina Pixel is an artist, focusing on sound and video. She explores heritage and incorporates nature’s knowledge into her work. Her project, ANCESTRAL ARCHEOLOGY, redefined Slovak folklore for modern times, and currently she is studying natural patterns and their connection to human existence. Her music and videos symbolize transformation, decay, and renewal, reflecting the emotional stages of grief, healing, and personal renewal. Nina is particularly interested in utilizing rituals and the
healing power of sound.
Nina Pixel was guest artist for Wellenbad n°3 at Stadtbad Berlin-Neukölln.
