Wellenbad N°1 is a unique sound installation and concert series in which water and sound waves meet a swimming audience. The composers Joseph Baader, Nathalie Brum and Vincent Stange, together with the Münstertherme Düsseldorf and Frankenbad Bonn municipal swimming pools, have transformed two municipal swimming pools into interactive sound spaces. Underwater loudspeakers made the sound installations audible as soon as bathers put their ears under water. As the highlight of the installation, the trio, together with guest artists Anna Schütten and Oxana Omelchuk, presented a live electro-acoustic concert that sounded both under and above water through several loudspeakers.
Wellenbad N°1 is an extraordinary experience in which sounds and music combine swimming, diving and listening - under, above and in the water. It marks the start of an ongoing series of concerts in municipal swimming pools in Germany.
Wellenbad – concept, live electronics
